We decided to go for a drive and do a paragliding course in the North of Italy, a week of Barcelona and a bonus week in the north of Spain. And about 6500 kms of tarmac along the way.

Sri Lanka

After our wonderful wedding we went to Sri Lanka for our honeymoon. Luckily, we were there only a few months before the big tsunami tragedy and just before the country became unstable again.

Together with Gerwin I went to Soulac sur Mer (near Bordeaux) to do a two-week training in skydiving and enter the realm of licensed airdivers.

Mexico

This started as a joke once, because of a song we used to sing when we were drunk; Mexico...
On the diving trip to Bonaire Dutch Antilles (Nederlandse Antillen) we stayed in Kralendijk and dove with Wannadive. Of course in Europe we undertake a lot, we visit Belgium a lot (Brussel / Brussels, Gent / Ghent / Gand, Antwerp / Antwerpen, Ardennen Ardennes) Norway (Oslo and Bergen), skydiving with SOE, paraglyding with Paho, sabbatical leave tips and tricks hints on money passport paspoort visa visum embassy ambassade geld. This page doesn't deal with sex, porn, movies or mp3 and mp4's. We went to the colloseum or coloseum or colloseum, trevy fountain. Of course, the question is how do I find a good bargain? Or where can I find cheap flights and travel discounts? And which hotel is recommended?

Leon Wolthers was here. This is my travelogue, or travel journal, containing stories and pictures of different journeys to different destinations and travel tips. I live in Europe, in Holland, so I went to lots of places nearlby, like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Den Haag (or The Hague). And in the province of Noord Brabant in Eindhoven, 's-Hertogenbosch (also Den Bosch), Breda, Tilburg and Oosterhout and in Delft, Leiden, Maastricht, Groningen, Nijmegen. All in the beautiful country of Holland, the Low Lands or The Netherlands (Nederland), where you will be arriving at Schiphol Airport. This website is on traveling, journals, backpacking. Featuring Ine Matthys, Tom Burstow, Gerben Mulder, Ilse Steijlen, Roy Seuren, Ezra van der Lugt, Marieke Oerlemans, Gerwin Bukkems and Paul Janssen. Takky in West Africa: Ghana, Togo and Benin. Covering ICCES Gyedu, Brong Ahafo region and Tetrefu, Kumasi, Accra, Cotonou, Abomey, Ouidah, Lomé (Lome), Kpalime, Akosombo, Tamale, Mole, Kintampo, Takoradi, Elmina castle, Cape Coast, Ashanti art (adinkra). In Mexico we went to Mexico City (Mexico Stad), Oaxaca, Puerto Escondido, Acapulco and Taxco, visiting Maya and Aztec temples, the world's biggest tree, Monte Alban and more. Also dealing with Egypt, where we went to Cairo, Aswan (Nubia), Luxor (valley of the kings), Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, Sinai desert and Dahab. Another album deals with parachute (skydiving) in France, a Static line and AFF (free-fall) course in Soulac sur Mer, France. On top of that we received our "brevet" in parapente (paragliding) in Bassano, Italy (Monte Grappa), after which we went to Barcelona (visiting Gaudi, Parque Guell, Sagrada Familia), Mont Serrat and Burgos in Spain. We went camping, hiking and cycling on an active holiday in Ireland, to Shannon, Kerry, Limerick, Lisvarianne, Cork, Bantry, Kenmare, Killarney, Dingle and Tralee. In South America we went to Ecuador (Quito, Otavalo, Banos, Cuenca, Loja, devil's nose, Vilcabamba, rafting, Guayaquil, Galapagos, see lions, blue footed boobies, sally lightfoot crabs, penguins, tortoise, iguanas, albatross, frigate bird and finches. Under the sea is a world rich with tropical fish, corals, sharks, eels, rays, dolphins), Peru (Machu Picchu, Cusco, Inti Raymi, Inca festival, Chan Chan, Huaraz, Nevado Pastoruri, Cordillera Huayhuash, Lima, Nazca lines, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Amantani, Puno), Bolivia (Copacabana, Titicaca, La Paz, Sucre, Potosi, salares de Uyuni, huayna potosi, Santa Cruz), Brazil (Pantanal, Amazon, Campo Grande) and Argentina (Mendoza, Cordoba, Parque Provincial Ischigualasto, Bariloche, Andes, Peninsula Valdes, Patagonia, Buenos Aires, Iguazu / Iguacu). After that we went to Madagascar (Tana, Antananarivo, Tsingy de Bemaraha, Tulear, Fianarantsoa, Morombe, Morondova, Zahamena) and South Africa / Botswana / Namibia / Lesotho (Johannesburg, Soweto, Upington, Kgalagadi transfrontier park, Springbok, Kaapstad / Capetown, Dive Action, Cape of Good Hope / Kaap de Goede Hoop, Table Mountain / Tafelberg, Mossel Bay, Garden route, Nature's valley, Knysna, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Hermanus, Swellendam, Hluhluwe National Parc, Saint Lucia, Sani pass, Drakensberg, Oudtshoorn). Two months before the tsunami we visited Asia: Sri Lanka or Ceylon. We went to Negombo, Colombo, Puttalam, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Habrana, Sigiriya, Dambulla, Nilaveli, Trincomalee, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Matara, Mirissa and Galle). One of the latest albums is on Rome, Italy, containing pics of the Vatican City, centre of christianity, where the pope houses, the colosseum, trevi fountain, the spanish steps, the roman forum, palazzo, stadio olimpico. Always flying on cheap tickets, staying at an inexpensive hotels and trying to find good deals and discounts. The only continents round the world not visited are Australia and the arctic, antartica, Air Asia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Sarawak, Sabah, Johor Bahru, Tawau, Sipadan, Sepilok, uncle tan, sandakan, Kota Kinabalu, Tambunan, Labuan, Miri, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Batu caves, firefly, Melaka or Melacca. Together with Rob Snoeren I went to Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Chichen Itza, Merida, Celestun and Holbox, on Yucatan. Ine and me now live in Chelsea, Juanita, Kirkland, on the shores of Lake Washington, in King County, Washington State. Ine is working here with Philips Medical Systems, in Bothell, on a major SAP project: OneSAP. We live close to Seattle, Lake Union, Lake Sammamish, Redmond and Microsoft, Everett and Boeing, as well as Stevens Pass, Snohomish, Snoqualmie and Mount Saint Helens and Mount Rainier. The Olympic penninsula and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada are also only a stone's throw away.
